Special needs motherhood can be lonely right?
The world idolises this concept of the 'independent woman' who can do it all and be it all without never needing support or help.
Only just a couple of generations ago we lived with an entire village of support. As a young child my grandmother would often spend time at our home helping mum out. We had many baby sitting options available to us and a great sense of community and emotional support.
In 2022 the world is a much more fast paced and isolated environment.
We live further away from family and friends. The pressure on mums to have a stellar career, 2.5 well adjusted children, a thriving marriage where you both still just adore each other, and a stylish welcoming home is sitting heavy on many of us.
That is even before the word 'disability' comes and taps us on the shoulder and makes itself at home in our world.
We used to have a village and now we have a world telling us that we should be able to cope better.
The pressure on the family relationships when raising children with additional needs is intense.
Our ability as mothers to look after ourselves (I'm talking the essentials like nourishing food and enough sleep to function) is seriously stretched and this means that our beautiful children don't get the best of us.
As mums we are the heart of the home. The glue binding everything together.
I don't say this to lump more pressure on you. I say this to remind you of your power. Of your already profound influence in your home.
And to remind you of why you are your child's (and your families) most valuable asset.

Motherhood Mentoring with Anna is an experience where you will work closely with Anna to continuously understand, strengthen and develop your mindset, your nervous system and your lifestyle to create greater resilience and performance in your motherhood journey and in all areas of your life.
Together we discuss your particular challenges and pain points to create personalised strategies that will help you to implement real and sustainable change in your day to day life.
There is a deep focus on learning and embodying tools and techniques so that you are self sufficient in an independent and ongoing way long past our time together.
Having the opportunity to speak with someone who gets it and has walked the path you're on, in a safe and non judgemental space can be such a gift.
It's time to give yourself that gift. It's time to give to yourself the love and care that you give to your children.
True self-care is not goddess baths & pedicures, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t feel the constant urge to escape from.
It is learning how to stop trying to “fix yourself” and start trying to take care of yourself… and maybe finding that taking care lovingly attends to a lot of the problems you were trying to fix in the first place.
It is becoming the person you know you want and are meant to be. Someone who knows that candle-lit baths and pedicures are ways to enjoy life – not escape from it.”
